What is the school dress code?

We believe that students' appearance is important to the learning process and use the following guidelines to maintain a safe, respectful learning environment.

  • Students must keep hair clean and styled out of their eyes. They may not cut numbers or designs into their hair.
  • Students must wear standard footwear at all times in school and may not wear flip flops or bedroom slippers.
  • Students may not wear hats or caps in the school buildings. We also prohibit bandanas, hair nets, belt loop chains, wallet chains, spiked jewelry, and extended belts.
  • Skirts must be at least as long as where the tips of the student's finger reach when the arm is at the side. We require all slits in skirts, dresses, walking shorts, and jumpers to be no higher than the point where the longest extended finger ends when a student is standing up straight.

  • Male students may wear earrings as long as they are stud earrings.
  • Students may not wear sunglasses inside the school unless the parent provides a doctor's prescription.
  • Students must cover their midriffs and button shirts and blouses appropriately. We do not allow low-cut clothing.
  • Students may not wear clothing with inappropriate or suggestive symbols, patches, or lettering, including clothing with messages that promote or symbolize the use of drugs, alcoholic beverages, or tobacco, or clothing that is sexually suggestive, racially offensive, profane, or that promotes violence or depicts gang or cult affiliation.
  • Students may not wear pajamas or sleep wear to school unless a day is designated for such apparel.
  • Students must wear pants at waist level, and they may not expose undergarments at any time. We don't allow baggy or sagging pants.
  • Students may not wear tank tops, muscle shirts, or spaghetti straps, and straps on clothing must be worn appropriately (such as bib overalls).
